Our Process: How a Plumbing Visit Works
No surprises: you know who is coming and when, what is wrong, and what it will cost before any work starts. Here is what happens from the moment you call (216) 238-6858.
Four Steps, Every Job
-
You call or write
Tell us what you see, hear or smell, and since when. We ask a few questions to judge how urgent it is and what to bring, then agree on a time.
-
We arrive and look
We show up when we said we would and find the cause before taking anything apart. A slow drain or a cold shower can have several causes, and guessing costs you money.
-
We explain and quote
You hear what failed and why, in plain language, with your options. For an old part on an old system, that includes whether a repair is worth it. Then an honest price.
-
We fix and test
The work is done right the first time, without shortcuts. We test it under real use, with water running and drains flowing, and walk you through what was done.
Our Standards
These are the things Jonas Lewis built the business around. They are simple, and they are the reason neighbors call us again.
- On time. Your time matters as much as ours, so we arrive in the window we give you.
- Plain language. No jargon and no talking over your head. If you want to see the problem, we show it to you.
- Honest quotes, fair prices. You know the price before we start, and we tell you what can wait.
- No upselling. We recommend what the job needs, not what pays the most.
- Right the first time. No corners cut to save time. A repair that has to be redone is not a repair.
- Your house, treated like ours. We work the way we would want someone to work in our own home.
Working in Older Homes
Most Lakewood houses are close to a hundred years old, and their plumbing has been changed by several owners along the way. Before we replace a part, we look at what it connects to: an old shutoff valve that may not close, a galvanized pipe that may crumble when it is turned, a cast-iron drain that may be thinner than it looks. We tell you about those risks before we start, so nothing about the job comes as a surprise.
When a repair touches old pipe, we replace the worst section with modern material rather than forcing a fitting onto a pipe that will not hold. It takes a little longer, and it is the difference between a fix that lasts and a call-back.
After the Work
Before we leave, we run every fixture we touched, check our joints for leaks and make sure you know where the shutoff valves are. If the job involved a new appliance, such as a water heater, we show you its controls and tell you what maintenance it needs.
If anything does not seem right afterwards, call us. Standing behind the work is part of the job, not an extra.
Process Questions
Will I know the price before you start?
Yes. Once we have found the problem, we explain it and give you an honest quote. The work starts when you say yes, not before.
What if you find something else wrong while you are there?
We tell you what we found, show it to you if we can, and say plainly whether it needs attention now or can wait. It is your decision. We do not upsell, and we would rather you call us back in a year than pay for something you do not need yet.
Does my job need a permit?
Some do. Larger jobs, such as replacing a water heater, repairing a sewer line or running new supply and drain lines in a remodel, usually need a permit and an inspection from the city. Small repairs usually do not. We will tell you before the work starts whether yours does.
Do you stand behind your work?
Yes. If something we fixed is not working the way it should, call us at (216) 238-6858 and we will come back and look at it.
